History of Fiery Creek 24: Commerce between Fiery Creek and Hell – A historical analysis

Excerpt taken from “Commerce between Fiery Creek and Hell – A historical analysis”:

It would seem that the citizens of Fiery Creek did maintain commercial relationships with Hell for a short period of time that spanned between 1854 and 1857, right before the destruction of Hell by Mary Clark. It is unclear how the relationships between both parts worked, whether they were friendly or not.

Currently, there are two main theses about what happened during this period of time: those who, like Smith-Anderson, believe that the relationships were actually quite good, which spawned strong commercial ties, and that an abrupt crisis in 1857 led to the destruction of Hell; and those who, like Kauffmann and Jameson, believe that the official relationship between Fiery Creek and Hell was rough, and that it was the lower classes of both populations who, out of necessity, almost in secret, led the commerce through those years.

The problem with Kauffmann and Jameson’s thesis is that the commercial ties between Hell and Fiery Creek were highly publicized, as can be seen in documents 7 through 24, and that all citizens from the time who are still alive confirm the commercial ties to be open and public. In fact, several sources [25, 33-44, 77, 84, 86 and 91] have extensively documented the existence of objects which came to earth from Hell, through Fiery Creek.

This would seem to prove the Smith-Anderson theory, however, the fact that commercial relationships were flourishing at the time would mean that the relationships between both factions were good, which cannot explain the abrupt events of August 1857. None of the living who survived those events have ever given a good account of what happened, and no documentation exists on how Hell was destroyed.

Weekly Fiery Creek, 30/10/2016

This week on the news:

Yet another week of no death, aliens being repelled by Fiery Creek forces

Just… wow. We don’t know what to say. This week, Denna Sanders and Vitor Vico have designed a strategy that has allowed many people in town to fight against the aliens. For the first time ever, the citizens of Fiery Creek have fought their way back against the invaders, instead of just waiting for a group of saviors to use their powers to take care of the threat.

In an utterly empowering move, the leaders of town, in collaboration with columnist Denna Sanders, who writes the Denna’s Charm of the Week section, have created and published a team strategy that has been successful at keeping the aliens at bay. In fact, all of Fiery Creek has fought alongside Joana Jauregi, Amanda Alexander, Vitor Vico and Jennifer to destroy the alien menace.

The battle continues, and killing some aliens does feel refreshing. Let’s fight! For Fiery Creek!

Fiery Creek Horoscope, 29/10/2016

OK, so you know what? I’m tired of this. It’s like, I never get a break from all of your bullshit. The Author himself has been murdered this week, all while an alien invasion is trying to take over Fiery Creek and some creature with enormous power lurks around in the dark, waiting to attack. You know what? Fuck this.

I’m out of here.

Mamma Luca and Aren walked to the remains of the Academy, where they had studied over two thousand years ago. Aren sighed.

“Good memories?” Mamma asked.

“Yes” he smiled.

“Memories of the times when we were young” she continued.

He looked at her with tender eyes. “Of course”.

Mamma nodded, and walked around the remains, appearing and disappearing from Aren’s sight, exploring the whole place. “What if I told you that this place was full of lies?”

“You have already told me that, and given me some proof, Alba” he said.

“I know, I know. Now comes the rest. But first, we need to talk about some… stuff. How I came to piece everything together”.

He looked interested. “Is this from your trip after the Ritual?”

“Definitely” she answered, with a serious tone in her voice. “But there were other trips, too”.

He was surprised. “I’d like to hear about those”.

Mamma nodded once more. “Everything has to go in order, though”.

She paused as she got in front of him and looked into his eyes for a second. She then started to circle around him, in circles of a regular radius.

“My beloved Stefano was used as a blood sacrifice, which intended to bring the three sisters for a witch Ritual. By this, Erin’s Library dimension and this dimension would collapse into one for a short period of time, in which she would be omnipotent in this universe, and she would adjust the flow of events to the Plan”.

“That’s all correct” he said.

“Thanks for the confirmation. Now, when I went around the world, trying to find peace, by chance, I happened to meet Aristokles, our master in this same Academy. He had been hiding across time and space, holding onto one of the philosopher’s stones” Mamma retold. “It seemed strange to me that, after they had told us that they would destroy the stones and die with their knowledge of the Plan to protect it, he kept living for centuries”.

“It is strange, true” he conceded.

“Or is it?” Mamma asked, as she stopped in front of Aren.

Aren gave her a weirded look. “What do you mean?”

Mamma resumed her circling. “Well, it is not very difficult to understand. At no point did any of the teachers state that them dying was part of the Plan. That was just something they told us so that we did not look for them and ask for the truth” she explained.

He was taken aback. “But… how? Why?”

“They can tell you themselves” she pronounced, as she cracked her fingers.

Together with the sound, the daylight disappeared and fires illuminated the whole area, a circle with Aren in the centre. Around it there were several old men and women, held by chains in the spot. They all looked up as if Aren and Alba had just appeared there.

“All of you… you were alive all of this time!” Aren cried.

None of them said a word. Mamma spoke from behind Aren. “That’s some pretty bad acting. So cut the crap” she cracked her fingers once more, and they appeared back in the Academy.

He seemed offended, or angry. “What was that supposed to mean?”

“Laurel found them in her trips through space and time, when she became so powerful in such a short time. She told me about them, and together we understood. They lived because that was their payment, to live eternally in exchange of their services, for setting into motion a Plan designed to protect the creation and the creator. The whole Plan was a lie from the very beginning, a lie which, you, as the Author, created so that you horrific creation was never destroyed!”

His face was pure anger. “So what if it was? The Plan is being corrected right now. Anne Black is going to die in the Caribbean, and you are out here alone, no match against my power!”

“That’s why I’ve brought reinforcements”.

Laurel came out of Mamma’s bag, carrying a katana and turning back to normal size. She slashed through Aren’s body with all of her power, and before he could react, Mamma and her were performing a joint attack. Aren got destroyed.

Not much here to tell, really. Just millions of aliens from the Confederacy of Extremely Politically Correct Sentient Beings and Non-Beings dead. Also, people wondering why aliens bring millions or even billions in their invasions of Earth. Also, lots of extremely inappropriate imagery going on around town, which is pretty normal for us, but apparently upsets many people. Status update on everyone:

  • Vee: planning the whole strategy against the aliens and leading the Fiery Creek forces.
  • Amanda: fighting some next to Joana – actually letting Joana do the hard work while she gathers intelligence on the aliens.
  • Joana: wrecking havoc of the aliens all by herself, thank you.
  • Frank: following Joana while recording everything with a Canon camera, later posts everything in his youtube channel, where he has over 1 billion views. He beat his own record by posting a video in which he stabbed an alien, which gathered 56 million views in just three seconds.
  • Erin and I: organizing everyone in the Arc, making sure that injuries are tended to and that everyone is eating proper food.
  • Denna: organizing the fighters, and making sure that they have proper knowledge of magic to fight.
  • Jennifer: fighting in the first line next to Vee. Her powerful energy ball attack has swiped dozens of aliens in one go – also several buildings.
  • The Kulmala family: collecting alien specimens and conserving them in ice, as apparently Mikloz needs them for his research on some unknown governmental agency.

Melbourne had been nice. The rest of Australia, not so much.

You had visited all of the shithole towns in Australia’s countryside, but apparently, there had never been any person with the surname Black there. You were now in Beaufort, one of the largest municipalities in the region – which was still smaller than Fiery Creek, which you had initially considered a shithole town -, and you had not had any luck here, either. It sucked.

You paid for the hotel and took your rented car back to Melbourne. You had given up. You went to the airport and argued with some stupid clerk about getting an airport ticket back to Fiery Creek, which you finally managed to buy. Now you just had to wait to the night, and then you would be back with Vee, and you would try to figure out what was going on.

You boarded the plane quite relieved, maybe thinking that had not made a mistake, that you could possibly be from Fiery Creek, that crazy town in the middle of the desert. You fell asleep before the plane took off, reassured that you would somehow sort things out in Fiery Creek, with everyone’s help.

You did not wake up until the very end. You suddenly started to hear people screaming, and woke up in confusion. The man next to you was screaming in panic.

“What’s going on?” you asked.

WE’RE CRUSHING!” he shouted at you.

And then you felt it. The plane going down at an incredible speed. You somehow managed to create a protective spell, but it was too late. You protected yourself right in the moment in which the plane hit the ground, almost like a flan hitting the ground at an incredible speed. It just simply burst open, and all of its passengers splattered against the floor in a bloody fashion.

You found yourself standing next to your impaled neighbour, who had passed out on the spot. You looked around and saw a woman screaming in pain. You took your bag, which had also gone unscathed, and run towards her. Before you could even get there, a machete went through her.

“Mayor Laura GarcĂa?! What are you doing!”

She turned towards you. “You… I know you… You are that newcomer girl… Black”.

Denna’s Charm of the Week

I’ve been having lots of fun with my new friends, and my sister has not bothered me for a while, so no complaining today. Let’s have some fun with the new spells that I’m going to teach you!

As we all know, aliens have attacked town, and we are resisting against them inside the Arc built by Joana Jauregi – who, I’m going to boast now, is a friend of mine! -, and though this is an impenetrable fortress which happens to harbour a whole Multiverse inside, a lot of people would like to recover their houses in Fiery Creek. This is the reason why we are fighting.

So, here is the thing, the Confederacy of Extremely Politically Correct Sentient Beings and Non-Beings is the one that is attacking us, so we need to hit them on their prime weakness: their political correctness. For this reason, Vee and I have devised a strategy that works with just three magicians, each of them casting one spell.

The spells are the following:

  • Ezkeld: a protective shield that can endure several attacks at the same time, it’s adequate to protect small groups of people from attacks coming from any angle. It’s not a perfect defense, and the stronger the caster the better its effects are going to be. The most powerful magician in the team should cast this spell.
  • Exprashio: when this spell connects with a target, it explodes. It does not have to hit an enemy directly, if the spell hits against some building and throws rocks and dust everywhere it will also damage the enemies, so just use it!
  • Incorrectio Humaorio: I have developed this spell with the help of Amanda Alexander and Joana Jauregi, who are superb magicians and have a terrible, extremely politically incorrect sense of humor. Basically, this illusion spell shows an extremely graphic image that makes the enemies lose their concentration. Images go from dicks and cunts to dead babies to racial humor. In fact, be careful when using this one, because you may feel offended yourself.

Basically, the caster who uses Ezkeld needs to stay in the centre of the team, holding the spell against enemy attacks, while the other two distract and attack nearby enemies. We have tested this strategy in the battlefield, and it works really well! We still have to recommend that you see Vee, Amanda, or any of us before you head out into the battlefield. We don’t want to have any casualties or injuries, and we will first check that your power levels are adequate to fight against the aliens.

And remember, always be safe! All the best!

For Fiery Creek!
