In our endeavour to get to know our neighbours better, every month we ask a prominent citizen of the town to tell us what book they would take with them to the Middle of the Desert, apart from the complete works of Tolkien and Cervantes. This week we have asked Liza Kulmala:
“I have alwayz been a keen reader. I like to read ze clazzeecz, in particular ze Ruzzian auzorz. Ven I waz young I uzed to read a lot of Dostoyevski, but now I zink I prefer to read Sartre. One of my favouritez iz hiz No exit, in which he wrote ze famouz line “Hell is other people”. I read it to my children, uzually after Peter Rabbit, right before bedtime”.
